Ever since I was little, I have always been a project-based worker. One of the projects I maintained all throughout elementary school into late middle school was my annual calendar projects, often for teacher gifts and extended family. I would draw 12 pictures, themed for each month of the year, and then take them to a local printing store to have them copied and bound in calendar format.
I was 12 when I made the Aubie calendar. Growing up in Auburn, AL, with an avid Auburn family, I knew the tradition and spirit of Auburn football by heart. I also loved Auburn's celebrated mascot, Aubie, and wanted to incorporate famous Auburn games with Aubie's antics into my new calendar.
Even though this was years before college or my career, I believe this project shows my skills in illustration and demonstrates design intuition from a young age.
